SAN DIEGO (BRAIN) — Competitor Group Inc. has named John Bradley as its senior vice president of media, effective immediately. Bradley will remain editor in chief of VeloNews, as well as overseeing the overall content strategy and business operations for all four of CGI's media brands including VeloNews, Triathlete, Competitor and Women's Running, along with their respective digital properties.

"John is an experienced media professional who's universally respected both inside our building and outside in the industry," CGI president Josh Furlow said. "His career is and always has been in media and that's his passion. He's the perfect leader to direct the future of our media division."

Bradley will be responsible for new media expansion, multi-platform product development, working with the editorial teams and leading sales and marketing efforts. Since joining VeloNews last year, Bradley has overseen a complete redesign of the magazine and retooled the brand's content strategy, which has increased unique visitors to VeloNews.com more than 20 percent year-over-year, CGI said.

"There is so much passion and talent in our media division," Bradley said. "The recent successes at VeloNews have really been down to me creating a direction and structure, then getting out of the way so that the members of our team could play to their strengths. I plan to do the same across all four of our titles as I move into this expanded role."

Prior to CGI, Bradley was a senior editor for Outside and Wired magazines. He holds a master of science in journalism from Columbia University and a bachelor of arts from the University of Florida. He will continue to be based out of CGI's office in Boulder, Colorado, where he lives with his wife and son.
