Breck Epic organizers announce summit on adventurism during this year's race

Published March 9, 2017

BRECKENRIDGE, Colo. (BRAIN) — Organizers of the Breck Epic mountain bike stage race are planning a summit during this year's race that will focus on backcountry recreation and related topics. The Adventurism Summit will be a gathering of "advocacy organizations, land managers, athletes, pundits, authors, journalists and filmmakers," they said.

The summit will include a series of panel discussions, presentations, Q&A sessions and film debuts. Organizer Michael McCormack said the summit will "help underscore the importance of protecting and preserving public lands and the positive economic impact the outdoor industry has on the national economy."

This year McCormack made a special effort to attract a list of elite athletes to the Epic through a "Race of Thrones" contest. He said many of the elite athletes will participate in the summit. More information at Adventurism.co.
