CalBike announces program for California Bicycle Summit

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (BRAIN) — The California Bicycle Coalition (CalBike) has announced the initial program for this year's California Bicycle Summit, set for Oct. 3-6 at the Sacramento Convention Center and surrounding venues.

"We set out to showcase the most innovative, challenging and important work about bicycle advocacy and the principles of transportation justice," CalBike stated.

Highlights include:

  • Four plenary presentations on transportation equity.
  • More than 30 workshop presentations.
  • CalBike's Advocacy Open Space Conference on best practices in local bike advocacy.
  • The 2017 Open Streets Summit, in collaboration with CicLAvia.
  • The California Better Bike Share Roundtable.
  • The Better Bikeway Design Symposium and Throwdown, featuring innovations in bikeway design, complete with contests and prizes.
  • Four bike tours, three parties, a movie screening and a street fair.


More information: www.calbike.org. Registration is at eventbrite.com and is $375, which includes admission to all events, five meals and drink tickets. For $90 extra, registrants can get three nights of lodging in a shared room at the Sacramento International Hostel.
