Performance will kick off Black Friday sale on Wednesday, but close Thursday

Published November 24, 2014

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (BRAIN) — Performance Bicycle will kick off its Black Friday sales this Wednesday, and then will close all its stores — as well as its distribution center and contact center — for Thanksgiving. The stores will re-open as usual on Friday at 9 a.m.

"This year we are continuing our tradition of closing for Thanksgiving. We want our team members to have the ability to spend time with their friends and family on the holiday without having to worry about working later that night or very early the next day," said Performance Bicycle CEO David Pruitt.

Performance's MEGA sale runs through Sunday and will be available in-store, online, and over the phone. The sale includes discounts on thousands of items including complete bikes. Members of the retailer's Team Performance loyalty program will also receive 20 percent back in Team Performance points on every bike purchased. Points can then be used for future purchases at Performance Bicycle.

Performance operates more than 100 stores nationwide. The company is majority owned by North Castle Partners of Greenwich, Conn.
