Bingham Cyclery opens Park City location to serve e-bike market

PARK CITY, Utah (BRAIN) — Bingham Cyclery, a 60-year-old Salt Lake City retail mainstay, is opening a location in Park City to serve a growing e-bike market.

It's Bingham's fifth location and its first in Summit County. It will stock e-bikes exclusively.

"We started carrying electric mountain bikes in 2015," said Bingham Cyclery owner Angela Wright. "Not only have we seen consistent growth in this category, but also in commuter and recreational e-bikes across all four of our established store locations."

Bingham Cyclery's other locations are in Ogden, Sunset, Salt Lake, and Sandy. It said the Park City location will be poised to serve those whose preferred method of pedaling is on dirt.

Wright sees Park City as the perfect place for people to easily transition out of their cars and onto the pedals.

"Traffic in Park City can always be an issue, no matter what time of year it is. Park City also has an excellent network of infrastructure, including designated bike paths and bike lanes that take riders from Jeremy Ranch to Deer Valley, from Trailside to downtown," she said. "If you are paired with the perfect bike, you can avoid the frustration of driving and parking and instead spend your time enjoying your commute from the comfort of your saddle."

The new location is in Quarry Village at 3156 Quarry Road, #3-N, just off of the Jeremy Ranch exit.

"No retailer in Summit County is currently focusing specifically on the needs of e-bike riders, or those who'd like to try one — whether they are commuting, taking the kids to school, sticking to the bike path, or riding the legal trails," said Wright. "We are here to make sure the Park City community can easily access the best bike for their lifestyles and needs."

The store will stock Gazelle, Tern, Norco, Giant and Liv e-bikes, as well as the custom German e-bike brand Riese & Müller.
