Published July 24, 2017

TAMPA, Fla. (BRAIN) — American Classic has hired Mike Johnston to head up the brand's OEM sales in Europe.

"Having spent his formative time at Salomon Skis and achieving the title of chief of marketing communications for Mavic, the cycling group of Adidas at that time, Mike Johnston is uniquely positioned to lead the American Classic brand forward in European OEM sales. His technical knowledge of wheels and business experience is unsurpassed. Mike comes in with fresh perspective and solid ideas, and we can't wait to see where he takes us," said Bill Shook, the president of American Classic.

Johnston said, "It's a huge honor to join the American Classic team. Our main goal is to gain partners, not buyers, to add value to the spec. The brand has always represented what I found most inspiring about cycling technology.

"It's very exciting to be involved with the AC team, I aim to help Ellen and Bill in all their efforts to continue to build the AC brand. I know that Bill's engineering expertise is second to none and the AC range of innovative products is as good as it gets. I can see a bright future for AC over here in Europe!"

Johnston lives in the Annecy area of France. He is fluent in English and French, and is a keen cyclist, skier, an accomplished photographer and a 5-handicap golfer. He will be meeting with OE clients at Eurobike next month, where American Classic will be at Hall B3-412. European OEs can reach him at mjohnston@amclassicinc.com to set up Eurobike appointments. OE customers from the Americas can contact Jason Rico at Jason@amclassicinc.com.
