Magisto offers free video editing and sharing at Sea Otter

Published April 4, 2014

MONTEREY, Calif. (BRAIN) — Automated video editing provider Magisto is working with the Sea Otter Classic to help attendees create and share videos from the event.

"Sea Otter has a passionate fan base connected by a common love for cycling," said Sea Otter Classic president and CEO Frank Yohannan. "By partnering with Magisto, we will offer a new and easy way for all participants to create exciting movies from the footage they are already taking. This will facilitate the ability of our athletes to share their passion for cycling and the Sea Otter experience with family and friends."

Magisto allows users to upload unedited video footage and photos; the site automatically selects the most compelling moments and weaves them together to convey a video story complete with music and customized editing. Movies can be shared across social media channels including Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and more.

“Our mission at Magisto is to make it easy for everyone to be able to share professional looking personal stories through video,” said Reid Genauer, Magisto's chief marketing officer. “We’re so excited to see the explosion of cycling videos on Magisto and beyond. It’s an extremely visual sport and makes great subject matter for compelling movies. We’re specifically amped about our partnership with the Sea Otter Classic and to add momentum and scale to the fabulous video storytelling cycling enthusiasts are already so good at.”

Sea Otter and Magisto have created a Sea Otter Classic video contest and a related video album to highlight some of the best Magisto movies from the event. Pro riders Joanna Petterson and Luis Lemus will be creating special Magisto movies using GoPro cameras for the Magisto album.
