LONGMONT, Colo. (BRAIN) — CrossVegas has been named the Best Event of the  2015-2016 UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup Season by the UCI. The event, held last September in Las Vegas, was the first UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup held outside Europe.

Brook Watts, owner of CrossVegas' event organizer, Watts marketing, was presented with a trophy recently during a race organizers seminar at UCI headquarters in Aigle, Switzerland.

Watts said, "the award is testimony to the hard work of many people to bring a World Cup to the USA, most of all a dedicated staff and wonderful sponsors."

CrossVegas is held annually in Las Vegas at the Desert Breeze Soccer Complex on the evening following the first day of the Interbike show. 2016 will mark the tenth year of the race, which attracts 12,000 fans.  CrossVegas will again kick off the World Cup series on Wednesday evening September 21 and will include World Cup racing events for Women Elite, Men Elite, as well as a USA Cycling category race and the ever-popular Wheelers & Dealers Industry race.
