Belgian internal hub drivetrain innovator, Classified, has created a US "home office" via their new partnership with Lucidity Business Development in Carlsbad, California.
Classified is the Belgian cycling company behind the innovative Powershift technology, replacing the function of the front derailleur. Powershift is incorporated in the rear hub and enables you to change gears instantaneously, under full load, with uncompromised ratio coverage and gear steps. Working with Lucidity's existing infrastructure, Classified will have its own American base for sales and support, as well as distribution.
"Working with Lucidity, we're announcing ourselves open for business in North America," stated Classified CEO Mathias Plouvier. "We're very excited to deliver our technology to consumers, shops, and other bike brands." Classified's innovative technology caught the attention of the global cycling media when first introduced in 2020. Since then, Classified has built on the original designs and has significantly grown the number of global brand partners. "We've known for a long time that Classified was going to shake things up in the drivetrain world, and we're very happy to offer our expertise to help them become a much bigger player in the market," stated Lucidity CEO, Richard Wittenberg.
Classified officially introduced itself to the American market during the 2022 UCI Cyclocross World Championships that took place from January 28th to 30th in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Classified and Lucidity will launch their partnership at the Sea Otter Classic, April 7th to 10th in Monterey, California. Legendary Belgian cyclist Tom Boonen, who is also an investor in Classified, will also be in attendance, as well as participating in a VIP ride on Friday morning.
The complete Classified wheelset is available for $2999 through specialty bike shops.
