Fazua e-bike motor begins US push with Sea Otter appearance

Published April 3, 2019

MONTEREY, Calif. (BRAIN) — Fazua, a German brand that makes a lightweight e-bike motor often used on road and gravel bikes, will appear at the Sea Otter Classic expo this month as it begins a push into the U.S. market. The company's motors are currently not officially available in the U.S. but Fazua said bikes with the motor will be available in the U.S. and Canada this fall.

The Fazua motor and battery are housed in the bike's downtube and the system is tuned for performance road riding. It's been spec'd on bikes from Pinarello, Look, Cube, Bulls, Donnelly, Logo and other brands. Several of those brands will display bikes with the motor at Sea Otter. (Donnelly's new e-gravel bike, which was displayed at the recent Taipei Cycle show, is shown in the photo below).

Fazua said its marketshare on e-road and e-gravel bikes is 80 percent in Europe.

Fazua has teamed up with Comodule to develop an app that includes a power meter feature that will be shown for the first time at Sea Otter. Fazua also plans to unveil a new corporate design at the show.
