SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (BRAIN) — Emerald, the parent of the Outdoor Retailer shows, has acquired the consumer event company Lodestone Events. Lodestone is the producer of the Overland Expo consumer shows and is producing Outdoor Adventure X, Emerald's first outdoor consumer event.

Outdoor Adventure X will be held June 17-18 at Snowbasin Resort in Utah; it will include exhibitors connected to hiking, camping, paddlesports, cycling, and climbing. It immediatelty preceeds the Outdoor Retailer summer show in Salt Lake City.

Emerald announced the acquisition as the winter Outdoor Retailer show opened this week in Salt Lake City.

The company said all Lodestone employees will join the Emerald team, with Lodestone founders Lindsay Hubley and Jessica Kirchner joining Emerald's management team and continuing to lead the Overland Expo series and oversee Outdoor Adventure X.

"Bringing the Overland Expo series of four premier events and Outdoor Adventure X together creates an expansive offering of consumer experiences not seen before in the outdoor community," said Jeff Davis, group vice president, Emerald. "We look forward to the synergy these iconic gatherings bring to our collective events while creating even greater value for the entire outdoor ecosystem, from manufacturers to retailers and consumers. With the growing demand for outdoor experiences, we are excited to increase the opportunities for consumers to engage directly with their preferred products and brands, as well as discover new gear and opportunities to support their outdoor pursuits."

Emerald owns Interbike, which has not been held since 2018, and is the previous owner of Bicycle Retailer & Industry News, which it sold to Pocket Outdoor Media in 2019.
