MTB pioneer’s book recounts sport’s formative years.

LAS VEGAS (BRAIN) —  Best known for chronicling the early days of mountain biking as publisher of the sport’s first periodical, Charlie Kelly is legitimately one of the handful of Founding Fathers of the sport, along with his better-known California friends Joe Breeze, Tom Ritchey and Gary Fisher.

LAS VEGAS (BRAIN) — Andy Ording, the former owner of Zipp Speed Weaponry, has made an investment in Silca, which is owned by former Zipp engineer Josh Poertner. Poertner bought the nearly century-old brand last year and moved it from Italy to Indianapolis.

This week at OutDoor Demo, it was the '90s all over again as Palmer showed up to ride an Intense with dealers.

LAS VEGAS (BRAIN) — The results are in and official for the National Bicycle Dealers Association's America's Best Bike Shops. The retail association will celebrate the nearly 300 shops that made its annual list, now in its second year, at a reception Wednesday night at 6 p.m.

MIAMI (BRAIN) — J&B is splitting off its recumbent brand from its cruisers and adult trikes, creating a new brand, Sun Seeker. The cruisers and trikes will continue to be marketed as Sun Bicycles.
