Herrmans opens Taichung office

Published March 20, 2017

TAICHUNG, Taiwan (BRAIN) — The Finnish accessory brand Herrmans Oy Ab has opened a new office in Taichung city to manage its Taiwan warehouse and serve regional customers.

The Taichung office will assist customers in Taiwan, China, India, South-East Asia, and Australia, the company said. The office also will manage inventory coming in and deliveries from the bonded warehouse.

"Taichung is the center of the bicycle industry so we needed a permanent office there to support our customers in the region," said Ronny Höglund, Herrmans' bicycle business unit director. "Together with our existing European and U.S. offices, this means we can respond to customer inquiries 24-hours a day."

The office is located close to downtown Taichung and includes desk-space, a meeting room, and a sample room stocked with popular product lines and service parts. The bonded warehouse is in Taichung Port and is frequently re-stocked from the factory in Finland for delivery to bike assemblers in Asia.

"The sample room allows us to deliver samples and service parts within 24 hours, while full deliveries can be made from the warehouse in 48 hours," said Stewart Clarke, the company's Asian Pacific area sales manager. "This means our effective lead-time is actually shorter than many local sources."
