De Soto launches craft tequila at Interbike

LAS VEGAS (BRAIN) — Multi-sport clothing maker Emilio De Soto launched a craft tequila at Interbike on Thursday, sharing a few bottles with some lucky show goers at day's end.

"It is called Dos Almas Reposado Tequila, infused with cinnamon and agave nectar," De Soto said. "It is the first to be 100 percent natural, gluten free, no GMO's, no preservatives, artificial colorings or flavorings, with the lowest glycemic index of its kind, and soon to be certified organic. The tequila we use in the process is made of double-distilled 100 percent Blue Weber Agave. In fact there are only two ingredients inside the bottle: agave and cinnamon."

Dos Almas means "two souls" in Spanish.

"We have two souls within us: yin and yang, a soul that plays and a soul that works, a creative soul and an analytical soul, a mountain soul and an ocean soul. Dos Almas is a craft tequila made of the soul of two plants, cinnamon and agave, nothing else. It does not have the bite familiar to seasoned tequila drinkers, so those who taste it will enjoy a sweet and spicy, yet cool taste that refreshes like no other," he said.

De Soto sad he's been a tequila aficionado for close to 25 years. "While I was a very serious triathlete for over 30 years, those close to me have always enjoyed post-race celebrations that involved drinks made of fine tequila. In addition to making clothing, tequila has been my passion for most of my life."

De Soto is producing 1,500 bottles in the town of Tequila, in the state of Jalisco, Mexico. He expects to start shipping the product to stores and restaurants before the holidays.
