Ass Savers introduces new mud guard and rear fender

Published April 11, 2016

GOTHENBURG, Sweden (BRAIN) — Swedish brand Ass Savers has added two new products to its line: a front mud guard for mountain bikes and a quick-mount fender that offers more protection than the company's initial product, a seat-mounted fender.

The Fendor Bendor is has been marketed by Olaf Wit of WIT Industries for several years, but Ass Savers is now taking over sales and distribution the product. The fender is foldable to fit in a jersey pocket and attaches to the seatpost without tools. It is made in Sweden.

"It's a great choice when you want full protection but still don't want to mount a permanent mudguard," Ass Savers' CEO, Staffan Weigel, said. It comes in two widths and in black or white.

The Mudder mud guard is intended to keep mud out of a rider's eyes, and not much more, said Weigel. "This mud guard is not designed to keep you neat and tidy," he said.

The fork-mounted Mudder features tire-hugging deflectors that can be adjusted so virtually no mud will pass. It weighs 18 grams and installs with zip ties. It retails for $11 and can be custom printed.

Both products are available from Ass Savers' U.S. distributor, zeitbike.com.
