Giant releases two new MIPS helmet models

Published April 24, 2018

NEWBURY PARK, Calif. (BRAIN) — Giant Bicycle has announced an expanded lineup of performance helmets including two new models with MIPS protection, the Rail SX MIPS trail helmet and Rev Comp MIPS road helmet.

The Rail SX MIPS is for offroad riders and racers on trail and enduro terrain. It is an update to the Rail model and was designed for the pro enduro racers on the Giant Factory Off-Road Team. It features an integrated MIPS system, an updated Airflow Ventilation system that has 20 vents and the new Cinch One Pro fit system, designed to cradle the occipital bone on the back of the head with large paddles, gives it a more secure and comfortable fit.

It has an adjustable moto-style visor that functions with goggles or glasses, an integrated goggle strap, and dual-position mounting surfaces for a camera or Giant light system.

For road riders, the new Rev Comp MIPS is inspired by the pro-level Rev helmet, used by WorldTour pros including Giro d'Italia champion Tom Dumoulin. Like the Rail SX MIPS, the Rev Comp has an integrated MIPS Brain Protection System. It also features an updated Airflow Ventilation system, with 16 vents, the new Cinch Pro Fit System and Liteform Strap webbing made with thin, lightweight material that doesn't absorb water and sweat. It also has an integrated magnet mount, which is compatible with a Giant Numen+ Link taillight.
