GOLDEN, Colo. (BRAIN) — VC Guards offers an improved version of its mountain bike handguards with custom graphics for shops, teams. clubs and other groups.
VC launched its guards in 2019. An improved bracket brings the guards closer to the handlebars for a sleeker look and feel.
"My years as a pro motorcycle racer made it clear to me that hand guards provide more than one type of valuable protection," said AJ Eschwig, the founder of VC Guards.
"Gloves only provide minimal protection against impacts and abrasions, but mountain bikes now are more capable than they've ever been. Riders are likely to ride at higher speeds, which means the consequences of impacts is much higher. VC Guards provide an indispensable level of protection for the rider's hands, as well as valuable components like brake levers and carbon handlebars."
The new VC Guards bracket features a shorter reach with a taller arc. This brings the guard itself in closer to the handlebars. Yet the unique bracket shape means they won't interfere with any hydraulic brake levers on the market, the company said.
The new bracket has a hinged clamp with a single pinch bolt that allows installation with no need to remove grips or levers.
The shields retail for $19.95; stock decal sets retail for $7.95. There is a 10-set minimum for dealer pricing on sets with custom graphics.
