WASHINGTON (BRAIN) — Kids bike manufacturer Woom Bikes USA is recalling its Original models because the stem and handlebar can detach. About 84,000 bikes are affected in the U.S. with an additional 533 sold in Canada.

Three private equity groups helped founder Chip Hawkins pay off a public debt owed to a bank consortium; it also put capital on Wahoo's balance sheet to enable growth.

BERLIN (BRAIN) — E-commerce company Signa Sports United, owner of WiggleCRC and the Vitus and Nukeproof bike brands, reported a 2% decline in first-half revenue, saying "subdued demand and market overstock" weighed on its results.

Its first-half net revenue was 441 million euros ($480 million).

While most traditional IBD brands now offer some variety of direct sales and click-and-collect few have received such a negative initial response from retailers.

FRANKFURT (BRAIN) — Eurobike, which closed Sunday after its weekend consumer event, attracted 34,750 trade visitors and 31,780 consumer visitors over its four days. Both figures were an increase over last year.
