The 5th Spot

Published October 22, 2009

Following its world premiere in Durango Tuesday night, Race Across the Sky, a stirring documentary about the 2009 Leadville Trail 100 mountain bike race, was simulcast to over 500 U.S. locations Thursday [last] night. Lance Armstrong's record-setting victory, the last seven miles on a flat tire, was only part of the story. The 70-minute show was preceded and followed by commentary from Armstrong, Dave Wiens, race organizer Ken Chlouber and others. Producers at the Denver showing expressed optimism that the film will be shown again. Check raceacrossthesky.com (click on link) for future showings.
