CSG Expands Distribution in Asia

Published March 25, 2010

BETHEL, CT (BRAIN)—Cycling Sports Group (CSG) has expanded distribution for its Asia Pacific Sales Department.

The expansion is part of an overall growth strategy focused on increasing distribution to build visibility for CSG brands (Cannondale, GT, Schwinn and Mongoose) in countries within the Asia Pacific region.

During the second half of 2009, CSG extended its distribution in the Asia Pacific Market by adding four new distributors and growing relationships with three existing distributors to add additional CSG brands to their sales portfolios, strengthening brand presence in the Asia Pacific marketplace. In addition, it helped build sales for Mongoose by 115 percent and Cannondale by 12 percent over 2008.

“We are very excited to have these new distributors on board and we are confident they will do well in the years to come,” said Edward Vlutters, director of CSG International Sales Asia Pacific. “This is the start of new partnerships and strengthening existing partnerships. In the future, this will be the main focus within our growth plans for the Asia Pacific region.”

New distributors for GT include: PT Wijaya Indonesia Makmur Bicycle Industries (WIM CYCLE), Wun Pang Cicycle Company Ltd. (Hong Kong), and CMGTS Co. Ltd (Mongolia). Schwinn can now be found at Muragappa Group’s Ti Cycles (India), Flying Ball Co. Ltd (Hong Kong) and CMGTS Co. Ltd (Mongolia). New Mongoose distributors are WH Worrall & Co. (New Zealand), PT. ACE Hardware (Indonesia), and CMGTS Co. Ltd (Mongolia). CMGTS Co. Ltd. will also now carry the Cannondale brand.
