Fix It Sticks creator launching crowdfunding campaign for new neck gaitor

Published January 12, 2016

(BRAIN) — Serial Kickstarter Brian Davis is starting a crowdfunding campaign Tuesday to produce a new neck gaitor/bandana design for winter cycling and other activities.

Davis has previously conducted successful crowdfunding campaigns for the Fix It Sticks wrenches and the Backbottle, a water bottle optimized for use in a cycling jersey pocket.

Davis' campaign for the Weatherneck has a goal of just $7,000. "Luckily, the risk on this product is minimal as there are no major tooling costs, so my goal can remain very low, ensuring the production will happen," he said on his campaign page.

The Weatherneck is made of breathable material with a center mesh section and uses magnets to attach in the back of the neck, so cyclists can take it on and off without taking off their helmets.

Kickstarter backers who pledge $20 will receive a Weatherneck in March. The first 50 backers who pledge $25 will receive one from the first production run, in February.
