Published April 21, 2016

NORTHVALE, N.J. (BRAIN) —Jamis Bicycles hired Doug Martin as the company's new director of sports marketing and communications. Martin will be based in the company's Santa Ana, California, office.

Martin has held marketing and sports marketing tenures with GT Bicycles, Nirve Sports and most recently at Felt Bicycles. He has also worked for USA Cycling, serving as an Olympic coach, program director and two-time world championship team manager.

In his new role, Martin will be responsible for working with the Jamis and Nirve marketing staff to help promote, communicate and bring greater attention to the company's products, teams, athletes, and overall branding efforts.

"We are thrilled to have Doug on board," said Jamis and Nirve president, Carine Joannou. "I have known Doug for quite some time and have long admired his work and ability to bring attention to the brands and programs he has been with. In this new fast-paced and ever-changing time in the bicycle industry, it is more critical than ever that we offer regular insight into all of our products, technologies and overall company efforts. Doug is a highly accomplished communicator, leader and doer--we are extremely confident in his ability to help in this capacity and much more."

Regarding his new role, Martin said, "I truly could not be happier. I have always admired the Jamis and Nirve product lines and what each brand stands for. After meeting with Carine and witnessing her people-first approach my interest in being a part of the organization skyrocketed. It is very apparent in the team she has built that everyone shares the same passion, values and love for the sport. The product line is in place, the athletes are top tier and the company energy is fantastic — I cannot wait to get started."

Martin starts on Monday, April 25, and can be reached at
