Cyclone to distribute Knight Composites wheels

Published May 19, 2016

BEND, Ore. (BRAIN) — Portland, Oregon-based distributor Cyclone Bicycle Supply is now distributing wheels from Knight Composites, a Bend-based wheel brand launched in 2014

"We've been working closely with a couple of well-known companies in Portland so I'm over there quite a bit, and I kept hearing about the growth of Cyclone as a distributor," said Jim Pfeil, Knight's COO.

"Operationally, we're in a good place and recently hired two more world-class wheel builders to help us keep up with demand, but we needed help with our supply chain," said Pfeil. "We met the Cyclone guys to talk about our businesses. Their goals and ours aligned perfectly — it was a no-brainer to shake hands with them."

Cyclone works with 3,000 regular dealers in the U.S. Last year it acquired Action Bicycle USA in New Jersey.

Tyler Robertson, Cyclone's marketing director, said, "We're going through a growth phase and always looking for new products to expand our catalog, especially at the high end. Several of our customers are already selling Knight wheels and once we got a look at the product we knew this would be a great partnership. With our current trajectory and Knight's commitment to excellence we are sure to create value for our IBD and frame builder partners."
