Published March 3, 2017

SUN VALLEY, Idaho (BRAIN) — A documentary about Rebecca Rusch's 1,200-mile attempt to ride the historic Ho Chi Minh trail through Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia will premiere in the athlete's hometown of Sun Valley this month. "Blood Road" will be the opening film at the 2017 Sun Valley Film Festival on Wednesday, March 15, at the Sun Valley Opera House at 6 p.m.

The ride was Rusch's journey to get to know her father, a fighter pilot who was shot down and killed during the Vietnam War. "It was a physically and emotionally demanding expedition, and ultimately a life-changing experience," Rusch said. "To be able to share the story with the help of Red Bull Media House is a powerful gift to the memory of my father. I'm so proud to be the messenger for this important tale of healing and forgiveness."

There will be an encore screening at the Opera House at 1:30 p.m, Saturday, March 18.
