TRYSIL, Norway (BRAIN) — Sweet Protection, the Norwegian maker of helmets, protective gear and technical clothing for the ski, whitewater and mountain bike markets, has named Mike Erwin as its new sales manager for North America.

A leader in whitewater helmets and apparel in North America, Sweet is now expanding its reach into the snow sports and mountain bike markets. Erwin will be tasked with driving growth in North America and providing sales support to all Sweet sales reps and dealers.

Erwin has worked in outdoor sales for more than 10 years for brands including Zeal Optics, DC Shoes and K2 Sports, where he spent seven years as the territory manager for Ride Snowboards.

"We're thrilled to welcome Mike to the team. It's important to have someone who understands our culture and our product representing us, so Mike is a natural fit for the role," said Christian Erga, Sweet Protection's head of marketing. "With his experience representing leaders in the snow industry, we know he'll help us continue to grow our brand in the North American markets."

Erwin said, "I'm very excited to be working with such an amazing brand that produces the best products on the market. The Sweet team has some of the most passionate people I've met in this industry, and that feeling is infectious."
