Saris Cycling Group trims US distributor count

Published September 5, 2017

MADISON, Wis. (BRAIN) — Saris Cycling Group is reducing its U.S. distributor count from 10 to six, parting ways with BTI, Downeast, Hans Johnsen Co., and KHS. Saris will continue to be distributed by Giant, Hawley, J&B, Olympic Supply, Trek and QBP.

The company, the parent of Saris Car Racks, Bike Fixation, PowerTap and CycleOps, said the changes were necessary for growth and to streamline the business and better respond to market demands.

"We appreciate the partnerships we have had with these valued distributor partners and wish them all the best," said Jon Lewis, Saris' national sales manager. "This is never easy, but a reduction in distribution will allow us to streamline our efforts to better serve our dealers through this rapidly changing retail landscape. We are confident our remaining distributors will rise to the inventory and service needs our dealers have come to expect."
