ANT Wireless releases standards for heads-up displays

Published April 18, 2016

COCHRANE, Alberta (BRAIN) —  ANT Wireless, the company that standardizes the wireless profiles for the ANT+ system, released new standards Monday related to the use of heads-up displays and other secondary displays used with devices such as bike computers.

The new profiles are being used already by Garmin to connect its Edge 520 and Edge 1000 computers to its Varia Vision In-sight Display, Garmin's first heads-up display device. Garmin owns the parent company of ANT Wireless, but the ANT+ system is used by many other brands that offer power meters, bike computers and related gadgets.

The new profile defines data streaming, custom configurations and alerts and notifications between main devices and secondary or extended displays.

ANT Wireless offers an online directory of all ANT+ certified products at thisisant.com/directory.
