Guru launches new motion-capture program for bike fit

Published October 4, 2016

WILTON, Conn. (BRAIN) — Dorel Sports' Guru brand has introduced a new motion capture software program, called Range of Right, that be used with a dealer's current Guru Fit system or adapted to be used with other fit bikes on the market.

Range of Right uses Microsoft Kinect 2.0 camera technology to provide real-time rider body angles. Software licenses for Range of Right will be provided at no additional cost to current active Guru dealers. Non-Guru dealers can obtain a software license and technology package for $3,000, while the software-only package is $2,750.

"Guru is always looking for new ways to deliver premium experiences for our dealers and consumers and I'm thrilled that Range of Right will provide a more dynamic method to get more riders on the right-sized bike," said Sam Dodge, global business manager for Guru.

Guru will be hosting Range of Right education courses through the end of 2016 and a full schedule of classes for 2017. Guru education classes will continue to be held at the Guru Academy, as well as regional training facilities.
