SAMIT youth helmets recalled for lacking federal certification requirements

Published February 19, 2026

WASHINGTON (BRAIN) — About 3,295 SAMIT youth multi-purpose helmets are being recalled because they don't comply with positional stability and certification requirements. The helmets can fail to protect, posing a risk of injury or death.

No injuries nor incidents have been reported.

Manufactured in China, the recalled helmets were sold in one size and fit a head circumference of about 21 to 23 inches. They were sold in blue, red, and black with a "cracked" paint design. They were also sold in pure black. The helmets have gray padding, black straps, a black and red buckle with a black chin strap, and a black plastic knob to adjust the fit.

Consumers should stop using the helmets and contact Samit for a full refund. The helmets should be destroyed by cutting off the straps. Photos should be uploaded with the straps cut off to usjialebei@foxmail.com to obtain the refund.

The helmets were sold online at Amazon.com from March 2025 through November 2025 for between $28 and $33.
