ASE begins search for Performance Bicycle president

Published April 18, 2017

PHILADELPHIA (BRAIN) — Advanced Sports Enterprises has hired Rebecca Metz & Associates to lead the search for president of Performance Bicycle. ASE is the parent company of Performance and ASI, the owner of Fuji Bicycle and other brands. ASE CEO Pat Cunnane has been acting as the interim president of Performance since its previous CEO, David Pruitt, stepped down in October.

Rebecca Metz & Associates specializes in executive searches in merchandising, marketing, sales, e-commerce/digital, supply chain, inventory planning, store operations and finance. Cunnane said the firm's expertise in recruiting within the retail industry is impressive.

"Rebecca's command of retailing aligns directly with Performance Bicycle's strategy and we strongly believe she is the ideal partner to lead this search," Cunnane said. "She understands brand verticalization and cross-channel distribution and today recruits for the very positions she has held."

Before reviewing candidates outside ASE, Cunnane said Rebecca Metz & Associates will review qualified members of the company's existing management team.

The president of Performance will report to Cunnane and will be responsible for the strategic direction and overall management of the retail chain's 106 stores across the country, its online sales channel, as well as establishing Performance stores internationally under licensing agreements.

Metz began her professional career at Bloomingdales, and has held roles in buying, merchandising, account management and inventory planning at COACH Inc. and Avon Products.
