RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, Calif. (BRAIN) — Friends of Charles "Chuck" Allen, including staff at Felt Bicycles, have launched a crowdfunding campaign to support Allen and his family, who lost their home, all their possessions and their dogs in a fire last month.

"Chuck is a world-class bike mechanic and a mainstay in the Southern California bicycle scene, having worked for several shops and companies over the past few decades. As friends of Chuck, Felt staff have stepped up and have made many donations," the brand said.

Allen got his start in 1993 as a mechanic at Big Bear Bikes. He’s also worked for many well-known shops including Rock n’ Road, Jax Bicycles, Canyon Cyclery and Brea Bicycle Works to name a few. In addition to retailer mechanic experience, he has been a team mechanic for White Bros. and Bullet Brothers Mountain Cycle.

He is currently working at Incycle in San Dimas.

Donations are being accepted at GoFundMe.com.
