DURANGO, Colo. (BRAIN) — Famed mountain bikers Ned Overend and Todd Wells are getting behind a "dirt fondo" in their home town of Durango, Colo., that will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the first UCI Mountain Bike World Championships, which were held in Durango in 1990 and won by Overend.

DENVER (BRAIN) — Rudy Project has signed on with the Toughman Half Triathlon Series as official helmet and sunglass sponsor. The 10-race series travels across the U.S., challenging athletes of all abilities with a 1.2-mile swim, 56-mile bike and 13.1-mile run.

SILVER CITY, N.M. (BRAIN) — Race directors of the Tour of the Gila are putting out the call for angel sponsors after the 28-year-old stage race’s title sponsor pulled its investment early this week. If new sponsors don’t emerge, the April 29 race in Silver City, N.M., may have to be canceled, organizers added.
