HANNOVER, Germany (BRAIN)Online registration has opened for this year’s Eurobike design and green awards. The website for registration is www.ifdesign.de, and the deadline to enter is July 20.

Eurobike wrapped up this past weekend with a record-setting 39,152 trade visitors—a 6 percent increase over last year—21,000 consumer visits and 1,556 journalists from 36 countries.

FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, Germany (BRAIN)—Erich Reiss, the man behind Eurobike, is now telling people to go fly a kite—or to surf one, more accurately. He’s floating the idea of Kiteworld Europe, a kite surfing trade fair, as an adjunct to next year’s Interboot boat and water sports show.

FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, Germany (BRAIN)—Eurobike has attracted a record 900 exhibitors from 37 countries for this year’s tradeshow to be held Sept. 4 to 7 in Friedrichshafen, Germany.

Last year, 868 vendors participated in the tradeshow, which was also a record, and 34,280 visitors attended.

FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, Germany (BRAIN)—Eurobike has new extended opening hours for this year’s event from September 4-7, and a new marketing campaign.

In 2008, Eurobike will open its doors to the public one hour later (10 a.m.), but close two hours later (8 p.m.) in the evening.

FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, Germany (BRAIN)—Eurobike’s first ever outdoor demo day, at Eichenberg, Austria, a venue that's a 35-minute bus ride from the main convention center, got a heavy dose of Mother Nature Wednesday as rain fell widely throughout the region.
