Yuba expands as cargo bike market grows

Published March 11, 2013

PETALUMA, CA (BRAIN) — Cargo bike maker Yuba Bicycles has launched a new website, moved to a larger facility and hired a new director of customer service. The company said it also will launch a new dedicated dealer site later this month.

The company moved into a new headquarters in Petaluma this month after outgrowing its former building in Sausalito. The new facility includes 2,500 square feet of office space and a 2,500-square-foot warehouse. New employees include Lindsay McKenzie, formerly of QBP and Bell Sports, as head of customer service and inside sales.

The new consumer website includes an expanded dealer locator to help consumers find Yubas in their communities, as well as an expanded online store and new products.

Next month Yuba will launch two new models: the Mundo Premium and Boda Premium. The Mundo Premium is an upgraded version of the Mundo and features a Nuvinci N360 continuously variable planetary hub from Fallbrook Technologies. The Boda Premium, an upgrade of the Boda Boda, features front and rear lights powered by a Shimano hub dynamo, full fenders and Schwalbe Big Apple tires.

Benjamin Sarrazin launched Yuba in 2006.
