BELLUNO, Italy (BRAIN) — MVC Group, the parent company of CastellI and Sportful, has acquired the U.K. bikepacking brand Tailfin. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Tailfin’s management team will remain in place and retain a minority stake. Tailfin established itself internationally in manufacturing bikepacking bags, racks and accessories.
According to a news release announcing the acquisition Thursday, Tailfin has had an average annual growth of about 50%, attaining almost 10 million euros ($11.4 million) in revenue last year globally with more than half generated in the U.S., UK, and Germany. The growth will now be supported by MVC Group’s commercial and industrial capabilities. MVC Group has a presence in 75 countries through 10 subsidiaries.
This is MVC Group’s fourth transaction in less than a year, following the launch of its 10th international subsidiary, in the U.K., last July; the acquisition of Wolvenberg in February, which led to the creation of MVC Benelux; and the transaction carried out through Zoot, the California-based triathlon apparel and accessories brand that acquired its European distributor last October, creating Zoot Europe.
