LAGUNA HILLS, CA (BRAIN)—Sportiva Importare USA has reached a long term distribution agreement with the Italian bike brand Viner.

Viner bikes was established in 1947. Since then the company has been hand producing a range of high level frames in its factory in Pistoia, Tuscany.

The 529 patent covers compact manual air pumps that have selectable high volume and high-pressure modes.

CHARLOTTE, NC (BRAIN)—Starting in the 2010 season, Team Quick Step cyclists will be riding bicycles produced by Eddy Merckx Cycles. The agreement is for three years.

VISTA, CA (BRAIN)—Haro Bikes has hired Dave Davenport as MTB/Asphalt Bike product manager. He will be responsible for creating the complete bicycle specification for the entire range of Haro’s mountain and asphalt bikes.

BLOOMINGTON, MN (BRAIN)—QBP is donating $10,000 to the Ogden Bicycle Collective, a nonprofit organization that promotes bicycles for transportation and recreation.

QBP, which is opening a new distribution center in Ogden, Utah in Spring 2010, has a long record of advocating for bike-related causes.
