PHILADELPHIA (BRAIN) — A Brooklyn, New York, company has agreed to acquire the intangible assets of the bankrupt sporting goods chain Olympia Sports for $180,000. The assets include CleverTraining, an e-commerce retailer that was once active in the cycling and triathlon markets.

TAIPEI, Taiwan (BRAIN) — Giant Group has agreed to make a $20 million investment in Stages Cycling, acquiring 32.5% of the company's common stock according to a filing with the Taiwan stock exchange.

SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. (BRAIN) — GEF Capital Partners, a private equity firm, has made an investment in MURF Electric Bikes, a seven-year-old brand with its roots in surf culture.

SAN FRANCISCO (BRAIN) — Strava has acquired Fatmap, a company whose 3D-map mobile app is targeted at outdoor enthusiasts including climbers and mountaineers. Strava said it will use the Fatmap technology to add 3D mapping to its cycling/running app. Premium members of Strava will gain access to Fatmap.

NEUSS, Germany (BRAIN) — This week an executive at the company that previously owned Amprio, Rheinmetall AG, said Amprio has been sold. But he declined to say who bought it.
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (BRAIN) — Emerald, the parent of the Outdoor Retailer shows, has acquired the consumer event company Lodestone Events. Lodestone is the producer of the Overland Expo consumer shows and is producing Outdoor Adventure X, Emerald's first outdoor consumer event.

PETALUMA, Calif. (BRAIN) — Component brand White Industries has purchased the wheel brands Rolf Prima and Astral Cycling.

VERONA, Italy (BRAIN) — An Italian investment group, UTurn Investments, has made an investment in component and bike brand 3T. René Wiertz and Gérard Vroomen will remain shareholders and managers.
The company said it has sales of 20 million euros ($21.2 million) per year and an EBITA of 5 million euros.

BREMBRATE, Italy (BRAIN) — A private equity investment company announced it will acquire a majority stake in Vittoria. The transaction is expected to close early next year.

SAN VENDEMIANO, Italy (BRAIN) — Cytech, which dominates the OE cycling padding market with its Elastic Interface brand, has acquired Pasasport S.r.l., an OE glove maker.

(BRAIN) — TheInformation.com, a tech trade title, is reporting that Sequoia Capital's China wing has made a recent investment in the e-bike brand Aventon. The investment would value the company at $590 million, according to the report, which cites two anonymous sources.

(BRAIN) — Mobile bike repair franchiser Velofix closed an equity financing round led by Yamaha Motor Ventures, a corporate venture capital fund for mobility and other interests. Yamaha Motor Ventures is joined by existing shareholder MacKinnon, Bennett & Co., and new investor Economic Development Bank of Canada.
