Osmo launches kids' hydration mix at Outdoor Retailer

Published August 7, 2014

FAIRFAX, Calif. (BRAIN) — Osmo Nutrition is introducing an organic kids' hydration mix at the Outdoor Retailer trade show in Salt Lake City this week.

The Awesome Orange hydration formula was specifically designed for youngsters, with less sodium and potassium than Osmo's adult formula. The drink still has a carbohydrate solution designed for the most effective fluid uptake. The flavoring and color come from organic freeze-dried fruit, and organic tangerine essence to "punch up" the flavor for kid's palates. There are no fillers or flow agents.

"Being a scientist, and knowing the influences of hydration on health, I am very concerned about the impact severe dehydration has on children around the world," said Dr. Stacy Sims, co-founder of Osmo Nutrition.

"So when I became a mom, my focus on performance hydration became a passion for finding the best hydration solution for my daughter and all children. I developed the kids formula to meet the specific physiology and needs of sweaty and active kids of all ages, be it for sports, for general thirst, as opposed to diluting juice or other sports drinks, and even as an electrolyte replacement for when our kids are ill."

The mix will retail for $1.99 for a single serving packet or $39.99 for a box of 24 packets.
