VISTA, Calif. (BRAIN) — Haro Bicycles has created Haro Europe, which will operate a sales and marketing office in Bielefeld, Germany. Haro Europe will focus on sales and support to its existing distribution base located in 21 countries, as well as opening new markets where no distribution currently exists.

The company is also bolstering its sales team with the promotion of Rob Kaplan to vice president of sales and Tyler Stetson to director of inside sales and customer service, effective immediately.
BOULDER, Colo. (BRAIN) — Supplier sales to U.S. retailers from January through March showed no improvement over the same period a year earlier, in part contributing to a 40 percent jump in supplier inventory levels at the end of March, according to the Bicycle Product Suppliers Association.

CHICAGO (BRAIN) — SRAM president Stan Day said the company has experienced soft sales over the past 12 months and is tightening its belt while putting focus on new areas of the business. Just what those new areas are, Day said he'd rather not say for strategic reasons.

OSAKA, Japan (BRAIN) — Shimano on Tuesday reported its second consecutive quarterly year-over-year revenue decline in its bike segment, as it announced that net sales were down 20 percent in the first quarter of 2016. The company's operating income also was down, 30.7 percent.

WASHINGTON (BRAIN) — Tern is expanding its recall of some folding bikes. The recall, first announced in May 2013 covering about 175 bikes, has now been expanded to cover an additional 220 bikes, which were sold as recently as this month. The affected frames can break at the hinge on the toptube.
FORT WORTH, Texas (BRAIN) — RPM2 is offering its footbed based power meter for $399, making it one of the lowest-priced power meters on the market. The price is available to the 500 customers to buy the meter from the brand's website using a discount code.
