Moab Outerbike to include the Hen House, featuring women's products

Published July 19, 2016

MOAB, Utah (BRAIN) — This fall's Outerbike demo event in Moab will include the Hen House, which organizers describe as "a branded environment where a collection of women specific products are showcased in one common female friendly environment."

LUNA and Continental Tires have already joined us as supporting sponsors, however Hen House organizers are still seeking a title sponsor and additional women-specific brands and products. The Fall Outerbike is Sept. 30 through Oct. 2.

In addition to the regular Outerbike shuttle rides and demo rides at the venue, Hen House participants will go on a special Sunday morning Mimosa Ride.

"Our primary goal in launching the Hen House is to reach more women riders and get them involved in cycling," said Kris Roufa, the founder of the Hen House. "Women-specific gear is promoted and shown less at events than men's gear; yet women riders are a significant and rapidly growing market segment."

In a partnership between the International Mountain Bicycling Association and the Shredly apparel brand, an exclusive print-designed short will be sold at the Hen House, with a portion of proceeds to benefit IMBA.

"Outerbike is our testing ground for the concept, where we will get to know our partners and lay the groundwork for what's to come. We want to package the Hen House and take it on the road to larger shows and events nationally, while offering more brands an opportunity to get in front of a unique audience in a fun and friendly pop-up boutique environment," organizers said in a press release.
