BikeSource Opens Concept Store

Published October 16, 2007

DENVER, CO (BRAIN)--The folks at BikeSource are opening their seventh site as a Specialized concept store.

Marc Eisenberg, president of BikeSource, opened the first BikeSource store in Columbus, Ohio, in 1985. Since then, Bikesource has expanded across the nation with three stores in Columbus and one each in North Carolina, Kansas and Colorado.

Now, BikeSource will open a spacious 22,000-square-foot Specialized concept store in Denver this fall.

“We approached this very carefully," Eisenberg said. "Over the last two years we have broadened our emphasis on Specialized and backed off from other brands that we felt were not as strong. We were very concerned about a negative consumer reaction, but two years of double-digit growth has proven that we are making a wise decision.”

Eisenberg added that the decision to open a concept store was largely based upon a shared vision with Specialized of what a professional retail environment could do for the customer experience. -Sean Hong
