Published January 16, 2009

MONTGOMERYVILLE, PA (BRAIN)—The Bicycle Product Suppliers Association (BPSA) have announced that members of the bicycle industry (BPSA members and non-members alike) now have until Jan. 23, 2009 to take advantage of Early Bird Registration rates for the annual Bicycle Leadership Conference (BLC).

This year's Bicycle Leadership Conference, a gathering of industry members enjoying speakers and participating in panel discussions, networking, bike rides, and a golf tournament, will be held in conjunction with the 2009 Sea Otter Classic, April 15-17, 2009, at the Monterey Bay Embassy Suites in Seaside, Calif.

"Registration numbers for the BLC were strong heading into the holidays and we expect to double the number of registered attendees between now and the conference," said John Nedeau, president of the BPSA and vice president of global sales for SRAM. "Extending the deadline gives industry manufacturers, retailers, advocacy members and others the opportunity to take advantage of special pricing for what promises to be a truly valuable event."

Registration fees for the BLC are viewable if you click on link, and cover the opening reception on the evening of April 15, meals and networking events held Thursday, April 16 through Friday morning, April 17, including the 2009 BR&IN'y Awards Dinner and top 100 retailer honors, a special off-site leadership event (held Saturday evening), two organized industry bike rides and access to the BLC Hospitality Tent at the Sea Otter Classic.

The BPSA also has welcomed the Bikes Belong Coalition as a Gold Level sponsor for the 2009 BLC.

In addition to its sponsorship, Bikes Belong will lead a break-out session during the event about how industry advocates work toward addressing the reauthorization of national funding.

"Bikes Belong sees tremendous value in bringing bike industry leaders and outside experts together each spring to share our best ideas and best practices," said Tim Blumenthal, executive director of Bikes Belong. "The BLC is a cost-effective, time-effective event that has the power to dramatically improve U.S. bicycling and the entire bike industry."
