Published June 27, 2017

PORTLAND, Ore. (BRAIN) — Ruckus Composites said it is experiencing a surge in business growth, leading to the hiring of two new, full-time employees and one summer intern. The company was founded in 2008 to repair carbon bikes.

Kate Walker has been hired as the acquisition and sales specialist. She comes to Ruckus with a 12-year background in marketing and business development of architectural services. Most recently, she served as the communications director for The Street Trust (formerly the Bicycle Transportation Alliance).

Laura Solís is the new technical and customer service specialist. She comes to Ruckus after a long stint working with a range of customers and bikes; in her hometown of New York City at Pedal Pusher Bike Shop and Western Bikeworks in Portland.

Sam Stember is a graphic design student; originally from Portland and attending Oregon State University.

"It's an honor to be leading an amazing crew who thoroughly enjoys the challenges of continuously rethinking how and why things are done; and how we can best implement those ideas," said Shawn Small, the owner and engineer of Ruckus.
