BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (BRAIN) — Salsa Cycles has issued a safety notice for certain Carbon Deluxe V2 and Carbon V2 forks equipped on Cutthroat model bikes that were shipped to dealers beginning in September 2019.

WASHINGTON (BRAIN) — The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued recall notices for two of the three bike helmets that failed tests performed by Consumer Reports magazine last year. After the magazine test, one of the helmet makers disputed its findings, calling them "fake news." That company, Morpher, is now closed.

The recalled Ripper MIPS Jr. model.

WASHINGTON (BRAIN) — The Consumer Product Safety Commission is recalling three Active Brand AS Sweet Protection bicycle helmet models because they do not comply with U.S. safety standards and pose a risk of head injury.

WILTON, Conn. (BRAIN) — Cannondale is conducting a recall of the front racks used on some Cannondale Treadwell bike models because the rack's bolts can allow the rack to fall off. 

Specialized is recalling certain 2019 and 2020 Sirrus and Sirrus X models.

MORGAN HILL, Calif. (BRAIN) — Specialized Bicycle Components has issued a safety notice about certain 2019 and 2020 Sirrus and Sirrus X models because of incorrect crankset installation.

VP Components is recalling its Harrier and Giant Pinner DH bicycle pedals.

WASHINGTON (BRAIN) — VP Components is recalling its Harrier and Giant Pinner DH bicycle pedals because of concerns the body can separate from the spindle, posing a rider fall and injury hazard.

The pedals are red, silver, or black in color with Harrier or Giant printed on the pedal body.

BMC recalls 2018 and 2019 Teammachine SLR01 Disc bicycles and framesets.

WASHINGTON (BRAIN) — BMC is recalling all 2018 and 2019 Teammachine SLR01 Disc bicycles and framesets because the fork steerer tube can crack or break during use, posing a fall hazard.

WASHINGTON (BRAIN) — After announcing a safety notice in October regarding some Surly bike racks, QBP is now conducting a recall of the racks in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

WASHINGTON (BRAIN) — Profile Design is recalling about 260 of its Aeria Ultimate carbon aerobars because they can crack and break.

The company has received two reports of the bars cracking or breaking. No injuries were reported. 

WASHINGTON (BRAIN) — Trek is recalling 2,840 of its 2017-2019 model Super Commuter+ 8S e-bikes because a front fender bolt can unthread causing the fender to fall into the front wheel. 

WASHINGTON (BRAIN) — Trek Bicycle is recalling about 11,560 of its Kickster balance bikes in the U.S., and 1,800 in Canada, because of concerns about the steer tube clamp, 

WASHINGTON (BRAIN) — Cannondale is recalling its CAADX cyclocross bikes, model years 2013-2016. The recall is over concerns about fork fractures on the bikes, including one fatal incident.

WATERLOO, Wis. (BRAIN) — Trek Bicycle is recalling some Super Commuter+ 8S e-bikes because of concerns about the bolt attaching the front fender to the fork crown.

WASHINGTON (BRAIN) — Faraday Bicycles is recalling about 4,450 e-bikes because their seatposts can fail. The company said it has received nine reports of broken posts, including one incident that involved minor injuries.

WASHINGTON (BRAIN) — SRAM is working with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Canadian authorities to recall about 920 RockShox Lyrik and Yari forks. 

The company said the forks' lower legs can break. The CPSC said SRAM had received no reports of incidents in the field. 

WASHINGTON (BRAIN) — Revelate Designs is working with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission to recall about 1,250 Terrapin System 14L seat bags.

WASHINGTON (BRAIN) — QBP is recalling about 1,900 Salsa Warbird Carbon and Salsa Vaya bikes and framesets because the fork legs can break. The distributor has received reports of two breakages, one of which resulted in minor injuries to the rider.

WASHINGTON (BRAIN) — Stromer is working with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission to recall its ST5 e-bike because the stem can break, posing crash and injury hazards. Stromer has received one report of the stem breaking. No injuries have been reported.

WASHINGTON (BRAIN) — SRAM is working with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission to recall i-Motion 3 three-speed internal gear hubs with a coaster brake that were sold on some Electra model bicycles with no redundant braking system.
