HELSINKI, Finland (BRAIN) — Mavic’s sales rose 7 percent to $174 million (129 million euros) last year, and jumped 5 percent during the final quarter, according to Amer Sports. Amer Sports is the parent company of Mavic as well as Salomon, Atomic, Arc’teryx and other brands.

BERKELEY, CA (BRAIN) — The BRAIN Dealer Tour went multi-model on its first day Tuesday, visiting shops in Berkeley and Oakland by bike, with transfers across San Francisco Bay via ferry and the BART rail. The day wrapped up with a reception at the Chrome Industries headquarters back in The City.

BOULDER, CO (BRAIN) — Michelin's new Protek Max inner tubes are injected with sealant and have a square profile and textured bumps that react in compression if punctured. Michelin said this reaction helps the tube close around the hole.
