FRANKFURT (BRAIN) — Rad Life Mobility is exploring purchasing QuietKat, a development which comes three months after the subsidiary of Life Electric Vehicles Holdings acquired Rad Power Bikes.
Scott Adams, senior vice president of global reseller channels for Rad Life Mobility, said in an email from Eurobike that talks are under way with QuietKat, which was purchased by Vista Outdoor in 2021, and then broke off into the Revelyst business unit along with Vista's other bike-related brands, Fox Racing, Bell, Giro and others. QuietKat, founded in Colorado, specializes in e-bikes for hunters and anglers.
"I can share that QuietKat was very well received at Eurobike this year," Adams said. "RLM is also looking to grow our lineup of offerings to our many resale partners and retail locations, so QuietKat is a brand we are paying close attention to."
In an interview with BRAIN in March after the Rad Power acquisition, Life Electric Vehicles CEO Rob Provost said he was exploring adding a third e-bike brand. Life EV bought the Harley-Davidson's Serial 1 brand in 2023.
Provost closed the Rad Power Bikes deal for $13.3 million on March 5. Late last year, Rad Power filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in advance of completing the sale.
Last month, Light Electric Vehicles Manufacturing, part of the Life EV Group, purchased a 100,000-square-foot facility in Algood, Tennessee, that will serve as the assembly, distribution, and eventually the manufacturing center for Rad Power. That acquisition is expected to create 288 jobs and invest $7 million in Algood, about 85 miles east of Nashville.
