MURRIETA, Calif. (BRAIN) — Pierer E-Bikes North America is tweaking its name and announced it is now importing a third e-bike brand — GASGAS — to the U.S. market.

The new name for the North American operations of Austria's Pierer Mobility AG is: PIERER New Mobility North America Inc.

SAN FRANCISCO (BRAIN) — Cycling app maker Strava has let go of about 15% of its staff, multiple current and former employees have confirmed to BRAIN. The company has not made a public report or responded to BRAIN requests for comment. 

Company confirms it had layoffs in November.

SAN FRANCISCO (BRAIN) — Zwift founder Eric Min announced Friday that he will become co-CEO, sharing duties with former Amazon executive Kurt Beidler. Min, who has been CEO since Zwift's founding in 2014, said Beidler's hire came after "a long search." Min will also remain chairman of Zwift's board of directors. 

JetBlack agreed to stop selling its Volt trainer in the U.S.

WILMINGTON, Del. (BRAIN) — Wahoo Fitness has dropped a patent infringement lawsuit it had filed in October against Australian trainer brand JetBlack, but Wahoo continues to sue Zwift over the same issue.

BOULDER, Colo. (BRAIN) — A defendant in the investigation into a series of shop burglaries accepted a plea agreement, according to the Colorado Attorney General's Office.

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (BRAIN) — Vela Bikes, an e-bike brand launched in Brazil 12 years ago, plans to move all its operations and manufacturing to the U.S. by early next year. The company is moving its headquarters to Detroit and will partner with Detroit Bikes to manufacture its bikes in the city.

PITTSBURGH (BRAIN) — Dick's Sporting Goods reported net sales increased 7.7% in the third quarter and raised full-year guidance.

Net sales for the quarter ending Oct. 29 were $3 billion, up from $2.7 billion from the same time last year. Comparable store sales increased 6.5%.
