Executives share thoughts in new BRAIN issue.

LAGUNA HILLS, Calif. (BRAIN) — After a year in which the industry struggled with surplus inventory and a rapidly changing distribution system, many supplier executives said they were cautiously optimistic about their prospects in 2017.

RIVERSIDE, Calif. (BRAIN) — Jenson USA and Free Agent BMX Bicycles handed out 60 bikes to elementary students during the annual East Hills Holiday Bicycle Giveaway on Christmas Eve. 

MINNEAPOLIS (BRAIN) — Two partners — including one bike industry veteran — have bought Velofix franchise rights to the entire state of Minnesota in what the mobile bike repair franchiser said was its largest U.S. deal to date.

ATLANTA (BRAIN) — Wahoo Fitness is working with dealers around the world to install KICKR Experience Stations at 150 locations. The Experience Stations include a KICKR trainer and display integrated with the Zwift online cycling app so consumers can test out the system. 

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (BRAIN) — Mobile bicycle repair franchiser Velofix said it is ending 2016 with 300 percent revenue growth over last year. The company added 44 new shops in the year, bringing its total to 89 franchise territories covered.

New location in Minneapolis is owned by Craig and Ann Paulson.

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif. (BRAIN) — Pedego Electric Bikes' 92nd store has opened on Chicago Avenue in Minneapolis.

The store is owned by Craig and Ann Paulson and is now offering Pedego bikes rentals and sales with a full menu of tours debuting soon. They plan a grand opening celebration for March.

The Summit’s top-rated 2016 speaker, Sam Dantzler, returns with talk on hiring practices

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. (BRAIN) — Organizers of the IBD Summit have released the full agenda for its 2017 event, which will be held Jan. 17-19 in Tempe, Arizona.

The summit is presented by Interbike, PeopleForBikes, the NBDA, and the BPSA.

The school was opened by Tim Patterson, the longtime manager of Maryville's Cycology Bicycles.

DENVER (BRAIN) – Seattle-based Action sports retailer evo has opened its new store in Denver.

FREMONT, Calif. (BRAIN) — CentriPEDAL, a store that Cali James Rardin opened in 2012 that had outgrown its original 2,400 square foot location, has re-opened as a 5,000 square foot Giant Partner Store next door to its original location.



BALTIMORE, Md. (BRAIN) — Longtime retailer Alex Obriecht has announced that Race Pace Bicycles will expand with two new stores set to open in early 2017.

EASTON, Pa. (BRAIN) — Genesis Bicycles plans to close on Black Friday, Nov. 25, just as it did last year. This year the store's staff has decided to donate their pay for that day to The Children's Home of Easton.
