LAS VEGAS (BRAIN) — For your Friday night prime-time viewing pleasure, Universal Sports Network will premiere a one hour show about this year's Interbike. Interbike 2015 – the TV Show is set to premiere Friday at 8 pm EST. It will be repeated on the network several more times over the weekend and next week.

NEW YORK (BRAIN) — Worksman Cycles will open a new manufacturing facility in Conway, South Carolina, in the first quarter of 2016.

The new 100,000 square-foot factory is being built to meet the increased demand for Worksman's line of industrial and recreational bicycles and tricycles.

Women's race will be part of the first UCI Women's WorldTour.

LOS ANGELES (BRAIN) — The 2016 Amgen Tour of California will stage a 4-day/4-stage women's race May 19-22. The race will be part of the first-ever UCI Women's WorldTour, a global series announced this week at the World Championships in Richmond, Va.

BOULDER, Colo. (BRAIN) — The National Bike Challenge, an online ride tracking competition sponsored by PeopleForBikes and Kimberly-Clark, reached its 35 million mile goal this week, 10 days ahead of the five-month competition's end. Since the Challenge began May 1, 92,057 riders have recorded 35,081,343 miles.

LAS VEGAS (BRAIN) — About 4 percent more retail locations were represented at last week's Interbike show, while retail buyer attendance was down slightly, show organizers announced Wednesday.

LAS VEGAS (BRAIN) — Blackburn Design lost five display bikes as well as assorted gear and merchandise after thieves broke into its rental van early Saturday morning at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center following last week's Interbike expo in Las Vegas.

BALDWIN, Calif. (BRAIN) — Benny Joseph Sr., a former owner of Crupi Parts, died Saturday at 79.

"Benny was instrumental in making Crupi the company that it is today," said Greg Swingrover, Crupi's current owner.

VENICE, Calif. (BRAIN) — Linus Bike has announced a program allowing customers to order bikes online with pickup at their local dealer. 

The Linus Enhance Online is a new e-commerce platform that can integrate dealer inventory so that consumers can see where their preferred bike is in stock.

GOLDEN, Colo. (BRAIN) — Rotating Mass Media has hired Katherine Fuller to be the new online editor for Dirt Rag and Bicycle Times magazines. Fuller replaces Adam Newman, who was named editor-and-chief of Bicycle Times in July.

HILDEBRAN, N.C. (BRAIN) — DeFeet's has launched a short film, "The Graveled High Rouleur," that promotes adventure riding and the company's new socks.

The 8-minute film features company founder Shane Cooper and is set in the Prohibition Era in North Carolina.

 

LAS VEGAS (BRAIN) — Fast, powerful and unassuming — that's what bike cops are looking for in an e-bike, according to Spir Bikes, a new Indianapolis company.

Spir — pronounced "spire" — is developing a homegrown e-bike to serve the unique needs of police forces.
