IRVINE, Calif. (BRAIN) — Felt Bicycles has announced the addition of four new employees.

MADISON, Wis. (BRAIN) — In a first for a major U.S. bike brand, Trek Bicycle will begin sales of complete bikes to consumers via its website in late September. Bikes will be shipped to the brand's retailers — not direct to consumers — for assembly, and retailers will receive a service commission on each sale.

SIMI VALLEY, Calif. (BRAIN) — Accell North America has established a standalone business unit called Haibike USA to handle the sales and marketing of Haibike e-bikes in the United States.

BERLIN (BRAIN) — Organizers of the Berliner Fahrradschau show, one of the largest European consumer bike shows, announced that the 2016 edition will be held March 18-20.

The event is being held at the Station-Berlin.

OLATHE, Kan. (BRAIN) — Garmin shipped 8 percent more units in the second quarter than a year earlier but saw revenue edge slightly lower as unfavorable currency rates reduced revenue by $59 million and negatively affected margins during the period.

OSAKA, Japan (BRAIN) — Shimano Inc. sales were up nearly 26 percent in the first half this year, to 197 billion yen ($1.6 billion) worldwide. Bike sales were up 29.7 percent. The company said a solid economy in the U.S. contributed to the results, as did the continued depreciation of the yen.
